Introduction to Dance (30 months to 5 years)
This dance program is designed to build childrens’ confidence and provide a strong background to strengthen their dance skills. Introduction to Dance (ID) consists of two different levels: ID 1 (30months – 3 years), ID2 (4 to 5). These classes are mainly focused on introducing our students to Classical Ballet technique but it also combines elements of Acrodance and Jazz to ensure a good preparation before choosing their preferred dance genre.
The classic ballet is a strict form of art which uses the barre as a main support and further develops their dance skills with centre work routines. This is a highly technical class which works body aligment and the precision of movements based on ballet positions. All of our ballet classes follow BBODance Classical Ballet syllabus and offer examination and scholars programs opportunities.

Acrodance (Acrobatic Arts)
Active Dansa follows the internationally renowned Acrobatic Arts program. The program is based on safe and effective progressions with proven results in five divisions of AcroDance: Flexibility, Strength, Balancing, Limbering and Tumbling. Developed with input from professionals and experts in ballet, modern dance, jazz, contortion, artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, sport acrobatics, yoga, acro yoga, pilates, physiotherapy, hand balancing and more, you will not find a more comprehensive program. Simple thoughtful progressions take the beginner preschool level dancer from log rolls and summersaults to the advanced dancer tumbling effortlessly across the stage!
Performing Arts (Singing and Drama)
Our Performing Arts classes follow the acclaimed Musical Theatre program of study developed by I-PATH. The I-PATH Musical Theatre Syllabi have been developed to help prepare students to become triple threat performers, and focuses upon acting, dancing and singing. The key areas that will be taught throughout the grades will be:
- ➢ preparing the body for dance performance
- ➢ preparing the voice for vocal and dramatic performance
- ➢ Broadway dance
- ➢ singing
- ➢ acting
- ➢ oral comprehension
- ➢ diction
- ➢ song repertoire
- ➢ movement and choreography
Due to our comprehensive dance program offered in the school, our Performing Arts classes mostly focuses on Singing and Acting, this is why taking dance classes in addition to Performing Arts is highy recommended.
Modern Jazz (6+)
This is a theatre dance genre with a high level of energy and expression. Jazz can be danced to many different styles of music, from classic musical songs to comercial pop. Students who enroll in jazz dance classes learn to dance to the beat of energetic songs.
Our classes follow the BBODANCE Modern syllabus which include Musical Theatre jazz, Lyrical and Modern Jazz, therefore allowing our students to explore the wide expectrum of Modern dance.
Hip Hop/Commercial (6+)
This popular street dance is a constantly evolving genre which consists of fast moves with a high level of coordination and power. By joining this class you will increase your cardio and stamina. This hip-hop class is influenced by jazz-funk and commercial style.
Lyrical Dance (8+)
Lyrical dance is a fusion of contemporary, jazz and ballet techniques. This emotional dance interprets the meaning behind the songs by using a strong foundational technique and free movements.
Contemporary Dance (Teen & Adults)
Contemporary dance comes from ballet and was developed by dancers who wanted to explore a whole new range of movement wich allowed more freedom and expression. Contemporary dance has a lot of contraction-release body movement.
Dance Technique Classes (8+)
Intense dance classes for those dances willing to take their dancing to the next level. This class focuses on building strength, flexibility and technical control.
Adult Ballet (18+)
It is never too late to start dancing or to give it a second chance. This adult ballet class is aimed at working body aligment and fitness through the ballet technique. This intense class will reap great benefits physically as you will improve your flexibility, strength and cardio. Adults taking ballet classes are also offered the opportunity to enter examinations with BBODANCE and perform at show cases.
Progressing Ballet Techniques (PBT)
An innovative classic ballet training program with a fast-growing international reputation. Founded and developed by Marie Walton-Mahon in Australia, this is a program designed for students to understand the depth of training muscle memory in achieving their personal best in classical ballet. Our teachers have been certified by Marie Walton-Mahon to implement this technique at Active Dansa.
